The 2017 Human Genome Meeting (HGM2017) will be held in Barcelona from 5th to 7th February 2017. This is the key annual conference of the Human Genome Organization (HUGO) the international organization of scientists involved in human genetics.

 

Ivo Gut chairs the Local Organizing Committee which also includes Jaume Bertranpetit (Institute of Evolutionary Biology, IBE), Elias Campo (Hospital Clinic, August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute, IDIBAPS and University of Barcelona, UB), Joan Comella (Vall d’Hebron Research Institute, VHIR) and Manel Esteller (Bellvitge Biomedical Research Centre, IDIBELL).

 

The theme of the HGM2017: “From Genomics to Therapy”, reflects the maturity of genomics and shows how it is becoming a tool that now can be used for the immediate benefit of patients. HGM2017 aims to highlight the progress that has been made in this important aspect of our lives. The conference will bring together high-level researchers involved in the clinical translation of genomics technologies and results. There will be sessions on the state-of-the-art and utility of genome tools, prominent keynote lectures, roundtables and discussions addressing the most recent advances in the translation of biomedical research results in clinical applications.
