The Bioinformatics Unit provides a link between Project Management, the Sequencing Unit and the CNAG collaborators.

It develops and operates tools and pipelines for data management, quality control, analysis and interpretation. Many of the activities are ISO 9001 certified, and some are ISO 17025 accredited. The Unit participates directly in many national and international research and development projects.

The Unit consists of five teams:

- Production Bioinformatics

- Variant Calling and Analysis

- Data Platforms and Tools Development

- Human Genetics

- Functional Genomics
