The Spatial Genomics Team focuses on understanding how gene expression is spatially regulated at the tissue level, aiming to accelerate discoveries and advance treatments.

The objective is to establish Spatial Transcriptomics and other Spatial Tissue Profiling techniques as standard tools for next-generation pathology, harnessing the prognostic value of tissue resections and biopsies. The Team strives to identify diagnostic markers, targets for prevention and intervention and predictive biomarkers for immunotherapy response, eventually contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, chronic inflammation, infections, and autoimmunity.

The Team participates in projects such as the BCLLatlas, the Human Cell Atlas (HCA) and the Alianza Global para las Tecnologías Espaciales (GESTALT).
